In spirituality, we often recognize that those with a deep spiritual connection face some of the greatest challenges. But why is that?

Is God Testing Us?

No, not at all. Our Creator is loving and benevolent, gifting us life as an opportunity to grow and evolve. If you have a strong spiritual foundation, you possess the resilience to withstand trials that others may not be ready for.

Life presents us with a series of challenges—not because God enjoys testing us, but because we are learning to live a life free of karma. Each difficulty is an opportunity to refine our spiritual nature and align ourselves with higher principles.

The 14 Imperatives of Dharma

Spiritual growth is a lifelong journey. It is not something we master overnight but rather something we cultivate daily. One way to navigate this path is by following the 14 Imperatives of Dharma, which are similar to the Ten Commandments and are considered the "religion" of God. These include:

  • Balance (moderation in all things)

  • Charity

  • Cleanliness

  • Love for humanity

  • Love for God

  • Non-violence

  • Compassion

  • Contentment and detachment

  • Desirelessness

  • Sweet character

  • And more...

These Dharmic principles serve as a spiritual compass, guiding us toward right action and helping us live in alignment with divine wisdom.

I discuss these extensively in my digital course, Cultivating a Daily Spiritual Practice "Inspired from Within" (Course #2). If interested get on my waiting list: here

Understanding Karma: The Law of Cause and Effect

A woman in sunlight with vibrant swirls, text reads "The Spiritual Truth, Understanding Karma." URL: theelectricfrenchyogini.com.

Karma is the universal law that governs our actions and their consequences. Some believe they can act recklessly without repercussions, but karma ensures that every action has an outcome.

  • Immediate karma or day to day karma: Some actions bring quick results, either positive or negative.

  • Stored karma: Other actions accumulate, affecting future experiences, sometimes even in future lifetimes.

If life is currently easy and abundant for you, continue making good choices and cultivating gratitude. But please don't waste your good karma through arrogance or unkindness.

If life is challenging, filled with struggles and obstacles, it may be a sign that you are shedding past karma and are ready for the next level of spiritual growth. You are being called to learn, rise, and transform. Each hardship is an invitation to develop resilience and inner strength. If you overcome your challenges you will be rewarded with more spiritual grit, power, love and wisdom!

Who doesn’t want that?

Seeing Life from a Higher Perspective

Imagine looking at your life from above, as if you were in an airplane. From that vantage point, you can see the full picture. But when you're on the ground, all you see is what’s immediately in front of you. This limited view and viewpoint can leave you feeling stuck, frustrated, or confused.

A spiritual perspective allows you to step back and see the deeper meaning behind your experiences. When faced with difficulties:

  • Avoid blaming others. (Blamecasting will keep you from seeing the truth)

  • Take responsibility for your life. (This is a sign of real spiritual growth)

  • Recognize that you are the creator of your own reality. (that's the spiritual truth)

  • Everything that exists in your life was created by you whether in this life or the many you have had before this one.

Everything in Life Is Temporary

Nothing stays the same forever. That's a simple fact; Joy can turn into sadness, sunny days can shift into storms, relationships can change, and circumstances can evolve. Life is always in motion, like a pendulum swinging back and forth.

Rather than seeking perfect balance, focus on cultivating inner stability. The goal is not to control life’s fluctuations but to strengthen your ability to navigate them with grace. I know it’s easier said than done! But you have to start one day to get somewhere.

Embrace Your Journey

A person meditates on a mat in a serene room. Text overlay reads "The Spiritual Truth" and "Embrace your spiritual journey." Stones on water.

Why is life so hard? Well it isn't!

Your life is not difficult—it is divinely designed to help you evolve. The challenges you face are there because you have the strength to overcome them. Align yourself with spirit and spiritual matter. You have been given these challenges because you can handle them!

Do the best you can to regather your strength, reason with yourself, calm your senses to overcome what’s coming your way. With patience, you will find answers, results, everything will turn around for you.

  • Regain your strength, poise, and composure.

  • Dedicate time to your spiritual growth.

  • Cultivate a daily practice that nourishes your soul.

  • Care for your physical body with yoga or other activity

With commitment, you will find clarity, transformation, and peace. When your life seems so hard; look within where the spiritual truth exist.
